MAJOR PLAN SETS, FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGE HOUSE PLANS

Hi AG, Plan set, articles on brick veneer and [most recent] invoice received.  Awesome!  Once again, we are sincerely grateful for your hard work, knowledge, skill, creativity, and kind ... .  I'll be working on all this today and maybe tomorrow, to give it ... due consideration.  Planning to enjoy myself thoroughly.  L. [Our client, on this plan set.]

This section of our website is about our design and construction specifications and drawings of unique house plans for which we were commissioned. It's to be a newly built - private, single owner-occupied, detached, story-and-a-half residence with a full set of French Country Cottage House Plans.  Now some of you may not reckon these plans are aptly identified as French Country Cottage House Plans; however, "cottage" is the term to which our beloved client referred several times when describing this style .

The French Country Cottage House Plans are currently 34 sheets and, as presented in Sheets 1-9, is in draft form just at the end of preparation for letting to bids by 4 custom home builders of considerable reputation. We are 15 months into this project...

Two aspects of this project in re these unique house plans are noteworthy:

  1. Our clients have actively participated throughout our work together with good-humor, keen intellect, attention to both major and minor items, and patience born of maturity and wisdom;
  2. We've never met them, don't have a clue what they look like, never once spoke with them on the telephone or even communicated with them through an intermediary. We've interacted by email and, lesser, by surface mail.

The architectural style is French Country...Cottage Style if you ask our wonderful clients, Chateau Style if you ask AG. It - French Country - is a residential style that ranges in appearance from just more a boxy farmhouse to just less than an ambassador's haute château. Our unique house plans settle about midway in that range. There are among the characteristic architectural. exterior elements: rooflines of different pitches, some low and some quite steep; roof forms mixed, e.g., hips and gables and round tops (including dormer roofs); at least one prodigious chimney; dormers (owing to its most often story-and-a half structure); windows of different sizes and heights on a wall line (similar to Craftsman style); masonry clad with decorative highlights of quoins, pediments, etc.; decorative ironwork, a turret somewhere. In all that, we only lacked the turret.  Aesthetically, French Country Cottage house plans define a house that is warm and welcoming, understated, elegant, and relaxed.

To follow are 9 of the 34 sheets in our current portfolio presented as is with only the clients' names and address removed. Each sheet hyperlinked within its individual text - a text explaining key elements of each sheet and some house design commentary and house construction pointers. For the sake of both cybersanity and viewer convenience, the sheets are divided into groups, three of them:

bulletGroup #1, Sheet 1-9, Introduction and Elevations (on this website);
bulletGroup #2 Sheets 10-22, Floor Plans (NOT on this website);
bulletGroup #3, Sheets 23-34, Electrical, Foundation, and Roof Plans (not on this website).

The hierarchy of access is as follows: 1) you can move in numerical sequence back and forth between each of the 9 text webpages and individually embedded plan set sheets by left-clicking on the Last and Next icons on each sheet; 2) you can go directly to the first in Group #1 of texts and sheets; 3) you can jump immediately to a given text and its sheet via the index page below, which is otherwise known as "Up" in each separate text page's navigation bar.
