HOME DESIGNER PLANS AND ELEVATIONS
· · · · · · ·
To this point in the Home Drawing, many builders would not, either by training or experience or both, take much interest unless compelled. But now, their interest will peak. That is why the Autocad Granddad has aptly named these and subsequent home drawing as Builder Home Drawing. These are the principal means of communication between home designers, home builders, and their house contractors. Some of the Autocad Granddad's home drawing will appear a little unusual to home building and home design professionals, more real than those to which they've been accustomed. They'll get used to it.
Plan views, or plans, or views, look down onto a thing to be built, as though the viewer were suspended above the area of presentation. Elevations look at a thing to be built, as though – more or less – the viewer were standing by (or flying by), looking across at the area of presentation.
You've been introduced to both plans and elevations already if you visited this website's pages on Concept Home Drawing and Model Home Drawing. Footprints are plan views. The Model Home Drawing on this website are all elevations.

CASE STUDIES
Basement Remodeling. Finally, more conventional views with which to work. The Autocad Granddad called in a home light expert to deal with the myriad issues of illumination concentrated in these 1100 square feet. She specifically requested plan views to advance her thinking before her on-site visit to assess firsthand. She knew the Autocad Granddad would do her proud.
Spa enclosure . . . major. This is the base to the Spahaus, a spa enclosure which enclosure is in the shape of an elongated octagon. You've seen the Case #6 Framing and Plumbing Schematic and Foundation Detail home drawing elsewhere on this website. Here we'll take a brief, three-picture look at the Spahaus' unusual foundation overall.
Foundations For Home Building, Continuous Stem Wall . . . unusual. We were calling this the tub room, but now call it (the) Spahaus. Here we consider the realm of foundations for home building. There's an existing spa tub and frame on a concrete pad in the big backyard of these folks who want to build a room or two, covering it over. The room will include the tub, an open area, and a full bath. Lots of windows. A door or two. There are several elements to this building that provide interesting opportunities and challenges. We'll stick to building home foundations here, having dealt with the framing in Spa enclosure . . . major.
ADA Compliant Manufacturing Plant Bathroom — Brilliant. In a recent plant build out of manufacturing and commercial sales space, the AG and Mrs. AG encountered an interesting twist on ADA bathroom layouts. On the subject of ADA bathroom setups, much has been written, but not much has been drawn until recently.
