FINE HOME BUILDING PLANS - BEFORE & AFTER
ROOF SLOPES or PITCHES TO-DO SCHEDULE
By Before The Architect Copyright 2005-2009
There's more good than evil in code enforcement and more good folks than bad in those roles. As a builder, I didn't mind stoopid inspectors and irrational specs so long as I was sure that my treatment was the norm, that everybody in my boots had to bear the burden of that stoopidity and irrationality. The inability to adapt. Government is, after all, government. With few exceptions, government's value to other than itself cannot be underestimated. So fair is fair in this odd sort of way. But inconsistency takes away expectation, ignorance takes away reliability, graft takes away trust, corruption takes away the ties that bind us socially, civilly. Before The Architect

ROOF SLOPES, FINE HOME BUILDING TO-DO SCHEDULE
Once upon a time, there was a Country French dream home design involving several roof slopes, as Country French dream home designs are known to proliferate in-style.
A difficulty arose in the clients' minds as to the relative appearance of them, in part for the wide variation in slope metrics, in part because no amount of home drawing from this shop could ever satisfy the clients' interest in seeing all these slopes cheek-by-jowl.
Be it resolved, back then, to present a to-do schedule of roof slopes or of roof slopes from all around the perimeter.
Text included dream home design and construction guidance as to both materials and methods.
The outcome was collectively salutary.
