CIRCUS COME TO BARD
LYRICS BY RALPH PRESSEL

Introduction #1:
Hey, Cal! D'ya hear? A case of beer
To the man who dares to wrastle bears.
Damn fine way to spend the day.
We'll know 'em dade at the gun arcade.
Introduction #2:
Hey, Cal? D'ya hear?
Bard's on the map this year.
Jus' saw the circus train 'n' red caboose.
Fan dancers. Cotton candy.
A strong man an' some dandy
Acts . . .'n' I hear-tell they even got a moose.
Chorus (at will):
Sweet Jay-sus in the mornin'
Showed up without a warnin'
To hold itself smack-damn in our backyard.
Woman (Man) catch the kids right quick
An' fetch Pa's walkin' stick.
Tell Gra'ma, too . . . "Circus come to Bard."
Stanza #1:
Decked out in duds to kill,
We'll wow 'em. Yes, we will.
Your gingham dress! My Lord, to hear the hoots!
Don't fret on Big Tim Riley.
If'n he gits to smiley,
I'll wup 'im up-side the had to shake his boots.
Stanza #2:
O' course, there'll be bill Ready,
Close-watchin' Slick Sam steady
Like he was to use his eyes to bore a hole.
No shell game is complete
'Til you've heard Billy bleat,
"No way, Sam! Give that pea just one more roll!
Stanza #3:
See Ozzie hold the hammer.
Stand back to let 'im jam 'er
Right on down to drive that bell to ou-ter-space.
Keep still now. Don't you breathe it —
The mess that he will leave it
In . . . The look of horror on the car-ney's face!
Stanza #4:
Hot Damn! Fat Sal will take
Two bits to watch her shake
Her rolls from eyebrows way down past her thighs.
And then we'll all get het
'Bout all she ever et.
And how what lovers do with all her size!
Stanza #5:
There ain't no use denyin'
Ev'rybody's got their eye on
Beth Krimm. Her pie chose best of twenty-four.
Don't take no big blue ribbin'
To start the boys akiddin'.
Fer-sure Beth's plenty good for that and more.
